PETER BONE MP TO MEET WITH KETTERING HOSPITAL OVER ITS PLANS TO CLOSE FACILITIES IN RUSHDEN

Peter Bone, Member of Parliament for Wellingborough and Rushden will be meeting with the Chief Executive of Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust this Friday (28 November) to express his outrage over the Trust’s proposals to close outpatient facilities in Rushden and move them to Irthlingborough.

Mr Bone arranged the meeting with the Chief Executive of the Trust when he found out about the proposals to relocate vital outpatient services in Rushden, outside of the constituency and into Irthlingborough.

Mr Bone says: ‘It is unbelievable that Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust is proposing to close all outpatient facilities in Rushden and move them to Irthlingborough. I have been involved in the Rushden Project for many years. The purpose of the project was to bring all local NHS facilities together on one site in Rushden. Included on that site would be enhanced outpatient facilities. It has always been presumed that these would be on the Rushden Hospital site.

‘Rushden has already seen many cuts in public services. Taking away our outpatient facilities and moving them into the Corby constituency is a cut too far.’
