Listening to Wellingborough & Rushden News

PETER BONE MP ASKS SECRETARY OF STATE TO VISIT WELLINGBOROUGH

Peter Bone, Member of Parliament for Wellingborough and Rushden has written to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to ask her to visit Wellingborough to meet with him and local Councillors who are very concerned about the overdevelopment of our area.

Secretary of State Ms Hazel Blears has responsibility for planning issues and Mr Bone has requested that she come to Wellingborough to listen to the concerns of local people over the massive amount of government-planned development in the constituency.

Mr Bone says: ‘I have written to the Secretary of State and have also tabled a Parliamentary Question requesting that she comes to Wellingborough to listen to our concerns. There are local protest groups all over the constituency who are concerned about overdevelopment, lack of public services and the need for improved infrastructure.

‘I think that it is important for the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to listen to the many concerns that local people have on the Government-led house expansion scheme in our area.

‘I do hope that the Secretary of State will take my request seriously because this is one of the biggest issues in the Wellingborough constituency right now.’
