Biography Lora Lawman

Councillor Lora Lawman

Lora Lawman

Lora is a very committed Community Champion with great experience, having served on the Borough Council since May 2003.

Until the closure of the Council, she was Chairman of the Standards Committee, member of the Resources and Audit Committees and elected as first Chairman of the Wellingborough Town Shadow Council last year.

Lora is very proud to have served as Mayor, which presented a fantastic opportunity to engage with all areas of the Borough.

She is passionate about representing constituents against inappropriate development and fully supports the investment in the Isham Bypass and wholeheartedly supports the exciting Grange Sports Development for Earls Barton.

She has enabled a resident and developer liaison group nearby, to ensure that residents views are heard and taken into consideration, thus protecting the villages and general areas.

Lora has pledged to speak up for and support all members of the community if elected to the New Unitary Authority; fully scrutinising decisions.

Impending retirement from a major engineering company gives her an excellent opportunity to represent residents full time at the Unitary Authority.

Lora is married to Graham, a former Borough Councillor, County Councillor and Mayor. They live in the Gleneagles area on the edge of the town and have two children.
