Reform-led North Northamptonshire Council has now approved progressing the disposal of Jacksons Lane car park, at their executive meeting held on the 17th February.
Jacksons Lane is currently an operational, free town centre car park serving Wellingborough. Given the significance of this step, we believe the issues raised in our open letter sent to NNC, including consultation, enforceable guarantees regarding parking provision, and a clear assessment of community impact, remain highly relevant to residents and local businesses as this process moves forward.
Any redevelopment would still require planning approval, meaning residents will have further opportunity to engage.
This proposal comes amid wider discussions about parking provision and charging across North Northamptonshire.
