Reform-led North Northamptonshire Council has already increased Council Tax by 4.99%, the maximum allowed. At the same time, NNC ran a parking consultation in September 2025. Weeks have turned into months, and residents are still waiting for clarity on whether parking charges will be introduced in our town centres.
The consultation responses were clear: car parking should remain free in Wellingborough and Rushden; new charges would harm High Street areas; and introducing tariffs could push parking onto surrounding streets. Yet Reform-led NNC continues to delay, ignoring the voices of residents and businesses who rely on accessible parking.
Our high streets are already under pressure. Reform must listen, act transparently, and protect our town centres from unnecessary parking charges.
